(Hereinafter “the Competition”)
All intellectual property rights in the ideas and applications of a participant shall remain vested in the participant who owns them. Any third party intellectual property rights shall remain vested in the third party or third parties who own them. Third party intellectual property rights must be clearly identified by the participants as well as the applicable terms of licence and other details relating to use of same.
Participants agree that they will not infringe the copyright, design, database right or trade mark or any other intellectual property right of any third party.
The promoter is ESB, a statutory corporation with its principle place of business at 27 Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2, Ireland (hereinafter “the Promoter”).
The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the Competition and/or these Terms and Condition of the Competition at any time and for any reason whatsoever.
By entering, Participants will be deemed to have accepted, and be bound by, these Terms and Conditions.
In the event of any dispute regarding the Competition, the conduct or results of the Competition or any other matter relating to the Competition, the decision of the Promoter will be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into, comment issued or reason given in respect of any decision made by the Promoter.

The Competition is open to persons of 18 years and over.
Employees of ESB and its wholly-owned subsidiaries and their immediate families are precluded from taking part in the Competition. An internal competition will be open to employees of ESB to participate.
The number of Participants is limited to 150.
Participants are responsible for all costs associated with their attendance at the event including, but not limited to, transport and accommodation.
No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete, illegible or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries not in accordance with the entry instructions will not be accepted.
By accepting these terms and conditions, Participants hereby declare that they are the sole owners of the content of their entries. Participants undertake to ensure that submitted entries shall not contain any third party copyright material, or material that is subject to other third party proprietary rights (including rights of privacy or rights of publicity), unless the Participant is legally entitled, to post the material in question.
By accepting these terms and conditions, Participants will be deemed to have consented to the use of his/her name and image in publicity material including, but not limited to, social media and traditional media.
In the event that a prize winner is disqualified from the Competition, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, select an alternative prize winner in the same manner as the original prize winner and such selection shall be subject to these Terms and Conditions.
Entries must be submitted on www.bigenergyhack.ie by 19th October 2016.
Only one entry per person shall be permitted.
Prize winners shall be selected by the competition judging panel.
Prizes are non-transferable.
Data collected for this Competition will not be used for any other purpose unless the entrant opts in to future marketing campaigns.
Data collected from Participants will be stored on secure servers for no longer than 12 months. The Promoter may use the personal details supplied for purposes including, but not limited to: helping the Promoter understand customer habits and/or to provide customers with relevant tailored offers by email, SMS or post. Any such communication will include an opt-out facility.
By entering the Competition, Participants will be deemed to consent to the transfer of personal data to the Promoter for the purposes of the administration of this Competition.
The Promoter is not responsible, and does not accept any liability, for any loss or damage caused by participating in the Competition. However, nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall operate as to limit the Promoter’s liability for death, personal injury or fraud.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries lost, damaged or delayed by post or entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
Any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter (including the Competition), existence, negotiation, validity, termination or enforceability (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Irish law.
The Courts of Ireland shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with the these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter, existence, negotiation, validity, termination or enforceability (including non-contractual disputes or claims).
There is a sign up fee of €20 which will be reimbursed at the event.
